Medigap Supplement Insurance
We work with Medicare recipients to find an affordable Medigap Supplemental Plan that suits their coverage needs
A Medigap plan (also called Medicare Supplement Insurance) is a plan you can purchase separately from a private insurance carrier that helps cover the out-of-pocket costs associated with basic Medicare (A and B). These costs include:
- Copayments
- Coinsurance
- Deductibles
Under Medigap, there are currently 10 different types of plans differentiated by letter. These include:
- Medigap A - D
- Medigap F
- Medigap G
- Medigap K - N
Every Medigap "type" consist of the same benefits, no matter who the carrier is. The only difference is the price of the plan, which varies depending on the private insurance carrier you buy from. There is also a limitation on when you can enroll, called an Open Enrollment Period that is only available to those 65 or older, and within the first month they sign up for Medicare Part B.
